How would you react if someone who you consider to be sagelike and great for advice had actually been advising you because they partial to that side the whole time; like Padre de Jesus for Dede. McKall: I would feel betrayed because I trusted them, but all they were really doing was trying to get me to do what they wanted. I would feel incredibly hurt and would never ask them for advice ever again.
GiGi: The second I figured out what was happening I would come to the conclusion that I can't trust anyone except myself.
Salsabin: I would be very angry and betrayed because they weren't helping me at all they were just trying to convince me otherwise. I would feel as if no one is trustworthy in the world.
Which sister do you identify yourself with and why? If not one in particular, what traits would you combine and from which sisters? McKall: I think I identify most with Dede because I like to stay out of things that tend to not turn out well. I know what the outcome would be, and I would try not to let it affect me or my family. But, like Dede, I would do something. I wouldn't just sit around and take no part in it. Dede did an amazing job a keeping everything going while the girls were in jail and after their deaths.
Sydney: I think I identify most with Patria and Dede. Patria, because she is close with her family. Dede, because I like to feel secure where I am in life, but I would help my sisters if they were in trouble.
GiGi: Minerva is my match because she's the sister that doesn't always follow what everyone else is doing. I just go with the flow and let things work their way into place. Minerva was living her life by the moment, not rushing into marriage but putting her prorities straight that she did want to get a degree in law.
Salsabin: I think i'm like Patria because like Patria i'm very close with my family but if any of my family members are in trouble I would do anything to help. Like Patria I also like to do what my heart tells me to rather than think about it.
What do you believe is the real connection between people? Explain why you think it is. McKall: I think that the connection come from something within. That feeling that you can't explain, but you know that something is there. I believe that an innitial connection can be made through what is seen like religion or race, but a true connection that last comes from within.
Sydney: I think that connections can be made with a person if you have common experiences. If you have had similar experiences, you can understand the other person's point of view.
GiGi: Connection is both mentally and physically demanding. After you start talking to someone or just being around a person your heart will feel right, like you're at home with that certain individual. When you have a connection with someone you don't have to necessarily think about what you say for they will most likely feel the same way, with no words to even describe at times.
Salsabin: I think a connection is a mixture of things. You can't force yourself to connect with someone and it doesn't take a lot of time to connect with someone either. A connection should happen right away. It comes from similarties in hobbies, personalities, or experiences. You have a connection to someone you have things in common with.
Do you ever feel like someone/something is spying on your life like the servants at the Mirabal farm? In what ways? McKall: Not necessarily spying, but there have been situation where all eyes have been on me and what decisions I make. For example, what college I will attend and what grades I must get and so on.
GiGi: Sometimes I get into these deep thoughts about if the government is really listening in on my phone calls, or while i'm typing this right now someone is watching me through my webcam.
Salsabin: I never really feel like someone is spying on me but I always think that God is watching our every move. As of my parents it's not really spying but when i'm doing something they would disapprove of I feel like they know and i'm going to get in trouble.
